Capricciosa pizza is a classic Italian creation, originating from the pizzerias of central Italy, known for its combination of savoury ham, sweet peppers, mushrooms, and olives on a cheesy, tomato-rich base. This version with shaved ham and roasted peppers celebrates those traditional flavours, making it perfect for casual lunches, family dinners, or a fun, shareable meal with friends.

INGREDIENTS :

2 pre-made pizza bases (thin crust or thick)
150g tomato passata
200g mozzarella, sliced or shredded
100g shaved ham
1 red or yellow capsicum, thinly sliced
50g mushrooms, sliced
50g black olives, pitted
Olive oil for drizzling
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
Optional: oregano or fresh basil

STEPS :

1. Preheat oven :

Preheat to 220°C (430°F) and line a baking tray with baking paper

2. Assemble the pizza :

Spread tomato passata over the pizza bases
Top with mozzarella, shaved ham, sliced capsicum, mushrooms, and olives
Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and optional herbs

3. Bake :

Bake 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling

4. Serve :

Slice and serve immediately
