INGREDIENTS :

For the meatballs :
500g minced beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp chopped parsley
Salt & pepper

For the sauce:
2 cups tomato passata or canned crushed tomatoes
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt & pepper
Pinch of sugar (optional)

For the pasta:
400g linguine
Fresh basil leaves and extra Parmesan, to serve
